Sitting Up!

Evan and I got to get away together for two nights last week.  It was amazing.  We went to Omaha and did nothing.  We slept in late, laid out by the pool, took naps if we were tired (who gets to do that?!?!), went out for long dinners.  So this is what life was like before kids!  I almost forgot....  It really took us about a day to decompress from all the craziness and catch up on sleep.  My mom and Evan's mom both came to our house and stayed with the boys.  Our dads came up a little later to help out, too.  We are SO thankful for them!  We realize that no matter how much we do for our boys, nothing makes their childhood better than if our marriage remains strong, so we are trying to focus on each other as much as we can.

After the first night back, we decided we wanted to go back to the hotel in Omaha.   The babies were horrible!  They are teething again (someone is always teething!), and all have runny noses.  It was Evan's night "on" (we are still taking turns every other night), and he was seriously up almost the whole night with them.  The next night was my turn, and I was up from about 2 - 5, and then again at 6 a.m. for the day.  Brutal.  It's gotten a little better now, but still not great.  We still have not slept through a whole night once since these guys were born.  Someone always wakes up at some point.  Every night I go to bed and pray that I won't wake up until 7 a.m., but that hasn't happened yet.  :)

But the boys are all so good.  Besides their runny noses, they are just getting to be SO much fun.  They are all sitting up now, and that only happened within the last couple of days.  It makes it so much more fun b/c they can all sit up and look at each other, or play with toys together.  They interact with each other so much now -- they grab each others clothes or arms or feet or heads, they suck on each others heads, they laugh at each other a lot, etc.  The other day I caught Micah sucking on Andrew's thumb.  So cute!  Whenever I get them out of bed and bring them in to the living room, they always look all around to make sure they can find their brothers.  So sweet.  Think of the bond they are going to have!  And they all LOVE Tyler.  They watch him whenever he is around, and smile so huge if he talks to them.  Tyler is starting to pick up on that, so he says really cute stuff to them to make them laugh.  Our life is entering yet another stage of fun craziness.  :)

Evan with his four boys.  Tyler, Micah, Derek, Andrew...

Derek and Andrew sleeping on daddy....
Little Derek.  He has the most gorgeous blue eyes, and the softest skin ever.  He's definitely the most mobile.  He's sitting up, crawling/scooting, and wants to be on his feet and walk all over holding our hands all the time.  Micah also likes to walk, but doesn't really roll much, and Andrew gets wherever he wants to go by rolling.
Sweetie Tyler....He had just woken up in this picture.  I love this one!
 Snuggling with daddy....Precious...
Derek, Micah, Andrew -- all sitting up!  How did they get to be such big boys all of a sudden?
Tyler playing in the swimming pool with our neighbor Jessi.  They are best buddies!

Love this one!  Andrew, Derek, Micah...

 Micah...eating is soooo tiring!
When we were gone, our moms put the babies in the swimming pool b/c it was like 100 degrees out.  They said the boys liked it!

And this is little Andrew's photo shoot.  He was being SO cute, so I had to put up a bunch.  :)
