Summer Time!

Life with triplets is getting really busy in other ways now.  Everyone keeps saying, "is it getting easier?"  Yes and no.  Yes b/c the boys are slowly getting more independent, but no b/c they are so mobile and active and rough.  I feel like my job has switched now to making sure that no one hurts each other! 

 

The boys are starting to talk SO much right now.  Micah especially tries to repeat everything we say. Last night he said, "hooray!" after Evan said it.  One of the funniest things all 3 do is after they eat, they all get out of their seats and squat down really close to the floor, and point, and say "big, big mess!!!" with a lot of expression!  You can tell what they hear at our house a lot.  It kind of sounds like "bee bee mess!"  It's the cutest thing ever! 

 

The boys are learning about what all the animals say, so we practice that a lot, and also where all parts of the body are.  Here's Micah pointing out Andrew's eyes.

 

 

We LOVE summer!  Evan put up a little temporary fence around our backyard.  We really didn't want a fence up since our neighborhood is so nice and open, and all the kids run back and forth to everyone else's yard, but there was no way we'd ever be able to go outside without it.  We tried it a few times, and all four boys run in different directions.  Sometimes I think they try to make their mama crazy.  :)  So now it's up, and they want to be outside all day everyday.  They climb up the little rock wall on our swingset and go down the slide like 50 times a day.  Andrew, believe it or not, is the most daring on the swingset.  He never wants to swing, unlike Derek and Micah who always want to swing, but he is a little maniac on the slide and giggles the whole way down!

Here is Tyler and our little neighbor girl, Jessi.  She's 6 mo. older than him, so they're always trying to see who is bigger.  They determined last week that they are the exact same height!!  You may be wondering...is Tyler wearing only underwear out in the yard?  Yes, yes he is.  Let's just be glad he had those on, people.  He's into taking his clothes off even if they get one drop of water on them, so it could be a long summer trying to deter my kids from streaking in the back yard.  Neighbors....consider yourself warned.

 Okay.  This is gross, and I debated putting this on here, but you just have to see this.  We cleaned our vents in the kitchen the other day.  This particular vent is very close to the babies' high chairs, so we knew food was getting thrown down there, but we just didn't know how MUCH food would be down there.  Check it out.  Goldfish, crackers, cheerios, you name it....  It's become a game to see how much stuff they can stick down there now, and that's in addition to the stuff that just falls down there from their trays.  Ew.

 This is how Evan gets greeted every day when he wakes up in the morning if he's not the first one up.  All the boys yell, "DADDY!!" and run over and give him these huge hugs.  Sweetest thing ever!

 I can hardly stand looking at this picture of Derek.  Last week one of the boys pushed him down outside, and he took a bad fall....poor little honey....but look how happy he still is!  These boys seriously fall and crash and bonk their heads and bodies constantly.  They are SO rough!!!  I'm not kidding when I say it would give me so much peace of mind if they could all be in helmets all day long.  My main goal these days is to keep them safe, and that's not easy.

 Derek again.  Ever since he saw us clean the kitchen vent out, he's figured out that the vents come out of the floor.  And that's really fun.  So now every once in awhile he'll come walking into a room holding a vent that he took out from somewhere.  The other day Micah got one foot stuck down in the vent hole and was hollering "mama!!!" from the other room b/c Derek had taken the vent out.  OH. MY.

 

This was our attempt to make a mothers day card for mine and Evan's mom.  The plan was for each boy to hold a sign that would read "Happy Mother's Day Grandma!".  Below you can see the results.  Total chaos....and that's why I love it!
