Tubes

A lot has happened since our last post! The week that Tyler was supposed to get tubes, he got a high fever on Wednesday. It was a little scary, because he hasn't gotten a fever before, and this one got pretty high -- up to 103 at one point. I took him into the Dr. on Wednesday, and they gave him shots of rosephin, which he's had before, but they're horrible! He had another shot on Thursday because they thought his ear infection might be causing the fever, and we needed to get his fever down before he could get his tubes. His fever finally broke on Thursday morning, and he was able to get his tubes on Friday (we pushed the surgery back from Thursday).

The tubes went really good, but it was hard for me to send him back to the surgery room and know he was going under anesthesia. Evan got to go back with him and hold him until he was put under, so that made me feel better. And the Dr. was back in our room within about 10 minutes telling us he was done and that everything went well! Coming out of the anesthesia, Tyler cried for about 25 minutes, which they say is really normal. Then he ate, took a nap, and he was happy again. He's been really good since he got his tubes, and he just acts like he feels better. His nights are slowly getting better, too. He still wakes up usually at least once during the night and just cries for a little bit, but then goes right back to sleep. He did sleep all the way through two nights ago, so we're hoping that trend continues. Although....we're getting pretty good at functioning normally even though we have very interrupted sleep! :)

These last couple of days have been really nice outside, so Tyler and I have been loving it! I think he'd stay outside all day if I'd let him! He just wants to walk all around in the grass in our backyard, and he loves sitting in the rocks, throwing them, and sucking on them when I'm not looking for one second. He's such a typical little boy. :)

It's so much fun to watch Tyler explore his world. The littlest things are so amazing to him...he wants to touch every flower, leaf, tree trunk...

Tyler is holding his own bottle now...I love how he crosses his feet every time he eats now. :)

Tyler's bottom teeth continue to come through, and he's getting his top ones in now, too. So cute!
