We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season! Here are a few pics...
Making gingerbread houses....the boys loved this! Not sure how much candy actually got on the houses, but we had lots of fun doing it! :)
Tyler's birthday is the week before Christmas, so we had lots of big celebrations that week! Here we all are making "dirt cups" for his treat at school. We had Tyler's birthday party the night after the boys' Christmas program at church. How adorable are all of they??? Tyler is in the red sweater in the back, and the three little guys are in the front (Derek, Andrew, Micah). Everything at the program went pretty good....Andrew and Micah started lifting their shirts up during the second song and comparing belly's, and then a little later, they were both sticking their tongues out and looking at each other's tongue. I was sweating bullets, b/c every once in awhile at home they do this thing where they think it's funny to touch tongues, and I thought for sure they were going to do that up there. Just what we need is the Anema boys french kissing during the Christmas program! Ahhh....there will be many more adventures to come (hopefully just not in public).
They love when I ask them to put their arms around each other. M, D, T, A
And then on to the birthday celebration! This big boy is FIVE already! Here he is with his Avenger cake. We had a fun party! On the actual day of his birthday, he had a Christmas program at school, and Evan and I and Evan's parents were all there just for him, so he thought that was really special.
Another bath picture....I've been letting the boys put the jets on in the tub lately....mostly b/c it's something to do in the winter! They like to stay in until they "turn into raisins." I try to do 2 boys at a time, but this day they all wanted in (which actually happens almost every time lately). Whenever I'm filling up the tub, Derek runs into the bathroom and asks if they can do the "fighter jets." It took me forever to figure out that he wanted the jets on in the tub. I agree Derek....why would you call those things jets? Should be called water pusher outers.
We all love story time. The biggest problem now is that I honestly can hardly hold 2 on my lap at a time, so they all fight about who gets to sit where. My amazing friend and fellow triplet mama Shelly said that she always had one of her girls be the star of the day, so we are trying it. If you're the star, that means you get to pick where to sit first, get to get into the van first, set the table, get the Bible story book after we eat, etc. It's a HUGE deal to be star of the day! And Christmas. The boys were all so confused about whose birthday it was, b/c it was just theirs, then Tyler's, and then Jesus'. All we know is that we were just celebrating a lot! They were so much fun at Christmas this year, and loved everything they got!
Here are some pics from my moms house: Micah man...
Tyler....
Derek....
And we attempted to take a picture of all of the grandsons on my side. Here are my boys with my brother Matt's two little guys. My parents have six grandsons ages 2 - 5, who all have birthday's within 3 weeks of each other. WHOA. That's a lot of little boys!
Micah (3), Derek(3), Tyler (5), Ethan (4), Braden (2), Andrew (3)
And then we got my parents dog involved. This was pure chaos. You can see from Spike's face how happy he is to be held there by 6 naughty boys. And he had to wear a Santa hat. ha!
Grandpa and some of his boys....
We had great weather while we were at my parents. We built a snowman, which they LOVED.
And then we tried to get a picture. As you can see, Micah and Derek were so excited to take a picture! Such joyous memories.... :)
Andrew is typically the cool, calm one. While his brothers were throwing an absolute fit, I looked at Andrew and said, "What do you think, buddy?" And he said very calmly, "Well, this is going well." ha ha! He's turning into such a character!
One of my favorite family pictures ever. We all went sledding, and had SO much fun together. I love our huge, rowdy, chaotic family! I still can't believe all these rowdy boys are mine sometimes, but I wouldn't ever want it different! A, D, T, M
And then we had another amazing day at Evan's side for Christmas. There are 8 grandsons under 10 on that side, and finally one baby girl, Georgia.
Andrew and Georgia. She's the cutest thing EVER!
Pretty girls....Georgia and her mama.
This was hilarious. Our brother in law Luke was having a really serious conversation with Andrew and Andrew was being such a little jokester.
The boys got a super huge train set from Evan's parents, and they love making big tracks with it. They also got these camo shirts, which they'd wear pretty much every day if they could. :)
Christmas was great, and then the week of New Year's was possibly one of the longest weeks of my life. I got the stomach flu on Monday. Micah on Tuesday. Then Andrew on Wed. Derek on Thurs. Tyler on Fri. and Evan on Sat. A full week of it. We're just glad it waited until after Christmas, and so thankful to be healthy again!
