We took a trip to Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Ken's house (my parents) this weekend, and Evan went back to work on Monday, but me and the boys stayed for a few extra days. We had so much fun!
Here they are....just chilling in their shades eating suckers on the way to Platte. Derek, Micah, Andrew
There are SO many reasons we love Grandma's house. She lets us build paths with bricks and big rocks all through her yard. The boys worked on this for hours!!!
She lets us flick kernels off of dried corn on her deck....even if the kernels fly EVERYWHERE and make an enormous mess. Grandma says if we have fun, nothing else matters!
She lets us dig with shovels and rakes in her landscaping, put mud in her bird bath, put our hands in her bird feeder, break twigs off of her trees....we stay very busy there!
My parents still live in the house they built when I was 9, and they have this great city lot that feels like you're out in the country. I have so many memories running down this path through the "woods" so it's so fun to see my boys doing it now, too.

And....there's a giant sand pile a few blocks away at great grandma Darlene's house that we had so much fun on!

We had bad storms here yesterday....hail, 3.5 inches of rain in less than an hour, and tornado warnings. We were in the basement when the tornado sirens went off, and we're thankful none of the funnel clouds they spotted touched down. The little guys did not understand why we needed to stay downstairs, and Derek kept saying that there was a "tomato." Micah was calling it a "pee-mato." Derek kept saying, "but we don't eat it, right, mom?" No, no, honey....we don't eat tornado's. Evan says good luck trying to get them eat tomato's now. Ha!
