Little Tot

Whenever we ask Tyler what his name is, he tells us it's "Tot." As hard as we try to get him to say "Tyler," he always says he's Tot. Mom, Dad, and Tot. He just keeps getting more and more fun, and is talking so much now! He picks up new words every day. Some of his newest words are: money, honey, bunny, walk, deck, cow, grandma, baby, yuck, mess (he hears that one a lot), truck bus, airplane, water, bird... He can tell us what the letters T, P, and O are, and tell us his grandparents' names when he looks at their picture on the fridge ("Grandma" is Carol, "Marv" is Marv, "Ninny" is my mom -- that's how he started saying Grandma Nancy, and now it's just turned into Ninny -- and he hasn't quite gotten Grandpa Ken down yet. We're working on it, dad!).

These past few weeks were a little rough, as Tyler has been sick. He got a cough and runny nose at the beginning of the week last week, but by Thursday his breathing starting becoming really forced. I brought him in to the Dr. right away, and his oxygen level was down to 93 - 94, so they had us do a nebulizer treatment in the clinic. That bumped it up to 95, so they told us we wouldn't have to go to the hospital, but we had to watch his breathing really closely and do nebs every 4 hours. They also put him on an antibiotic for an infection in his lungs, and ran a bunch more tests. Thankfully everything came back negative, and we were through the worst of it after about two days, but it was a scary time! I laid on the floor of his room that first night while he slept and just listened to him breathe. It brought back so many memories of when he got RSV when he was 8 weeks old....These are the things they don't tell you when you want to have kids, right?

He's finally starting to act like himself again, so we're glad to have him back to normal. Here are a few recent pictures:

We took Tyler to the park at a nearby school, and there was a school bus there. He watches the neighbor kids get on the bus every morning, so to get to see a bus up close was amazing. He said, "bus, bus, bus" for the rest of the day!
He laughs the whole way down the slide...

His latest obsession is "driving" the car. We have to leave 5 - 10 min. earlier than normal to go anywhere b/c if he doesn't get to drive first, it is TROUBLE!

Looking for "birdies" outside...we do this about 15 times a day.

Our carpet always stays very well raked...

All snuggled up for bed....I love this....He always feels the little edge of his blankey.

Sharing a sucker with Daddy...

He got a new slide, and he LOVES it. He thinks he's such big stuff when he climbs up the back step or two.
