We're blogging!

Well, we've decided to join the world of blogging and start our own site to keep all of our family and friends updated! There is a lot going on in our world these days!

Just a little history, first: Most of you know that we moved to Sioux Falls, SD about a month ago from Milwaukee, WI, where we had been living for 5 years. We moved to Milwaukee right after Evan graduated from Dordt in 2004 for him to attend Marquette Law School. He graduated after three years and we loved Milwaukee so much that we ended up staying for two more years. Evan worked at Deloitte for two years, and I had been working as an HR/Recruiting Manager at GMR Marketing. We loved our life there, but God had a different plan for us....one that we definitely weren't expecting!

We were at my parents house in Platte, SD at the end of May (Mothers Day weekend) for my younger brother Eric's graduation from college. On our way back to Milwaukee, we drove through Sioux Falls where Evan had what we thought was going to be a quick "meet and greet" with one of the top estate planninng attorney's in the state of SD. A quick meeting turned into almost two hours, and when he walked out, we were excited about the possibility that he could potentially get a job offer!

The rest of the 8 hour trip back to Milwaukee, we talked about possibly moving back to Sioux Falls, which was completely unplanned and not on our timeline (we thought we'd be in Milwaukee for at least a couple more years). But we were excited about the thought of being close to family again! Then....our lives changed even more. I had been feeling sick all weekend, and when we got home after our whirlwind of a day, I took a pregnancy test and we found out that we are having a baby! What a day! So...long story short, Evan got an official offer from Thompson Law Office about a week later, we put our condo on the market (where it still remains...), and we moved to an apartment in Sioux Falls all within about 6 weeks!

Since we moved here, we found out that we're having a baby boy! We're so excited! The doctor told us there's "no doubt" that this is a boy. :) I am now 25 weeks along and my due date is December 23 (Merry Christmas!). Here are some pictures of my belly, and our beautiful little son:
